Additional taxes, fees or levies may apply according to local legislation. Recipients of deliveries made outside the UK may have to pay import duty or formal customs entry fees. Any customs or import duties are charged once the goods reach the destination country and these charges are your responsibility and must be paid by the recipient. Delivery may be delayed by local customs because of this but unfortunately this is out of our control.

Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations are now UK and ROI Law
In the past, most waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries have ended up in landfill sites, where the toxic materials some of them contain can put communities at risk.
The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries must never be placed in your waste disposal or recycling bins. WEEE is taken back free of charge at electrical retail outlets on a one-for-one like-for-like basis. There is a bin for small batteries in your local store. Local authority/civic amenity facilities also take back WEEE and waste batteries free of charge. WEEE and waste battery recycling is free.
If you purchase a new electrical or electronic item from Claire’s you may dispose of an equivalent old item free of charge at any of our stores in the UK or ROI, subject to the following conditions:
- The item disposed of must be of the same type or perform an equivalent function as the one purchased
- The item disposed of must not pose a health and safety risk to our staff
- Old items can be returned up to 28 days from the date of purchase in the UK and 15 days from the date of purchase in the Republic of Ireland
- When returning an old item, proof of purchase of a new item must be provided by means of a receipt
- This service only applies to householders, business customers are excluded
Claire's have registered with an approved compliance scheme in order to ensure our role in contributing to proper management of WEEE and our EEE Producer registration number is WEE/CJ0080UV for the UK and 377WB for the ROI scheme.
Please note that products bearing a crossed out wheelie bin symbol should not be disposed of as municipal waste and need to be kept separate from other waste to avoid potential harmful effects on the environment and human health as the result of the presence of harmful substances in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
